Hepatitis around the World

There is a huge stigma attached to the Hepatitis virus, that those who carry it are ‘dirty’. In most cases this is simply not true and while some 500 million people worldwide carry the disease, millions among them are hiding it from those around them. If the stigma can be erased and awareness can be raised on how to prevent infection then it’s likely that the spread of Hepatitis will be a thing of the past.

This is the site representing the World Hepatitis Alliance’s (WHA) global campaign and World Hepatitis day on May 19th 2008. The WHA is comprised of 200 groups of Hepatitis B and C patients spanning Europe, North Africa, North and South America, Australasia, he Eastern Mediterranean and the Western Pacific.
